Avila Beach Resort, Chelsea and Matthew a Sunday Wedding that was incredible! Feb 19th, 2012

Our bride and groom had less than a month to get out the invite's, plan the entire weekend and find their vendors. Normally, not easy.... but this B&G had a secret weapon, DAD & MOM. They got on the phone and booked the resort they had always enjoyed "The Avila Beach Resort" Alex and her crew are really great to work with and very strong service pro's. This is one of many of the Rossi groups properties and to say it's beautiful there on the edge of the golf course by the ocean is an understatement. They decided on one of our favorite caterers GCR Catering with Chef Mike Foley. They also went with a wonderful photography duo From "The Collective" with William Mckeen and his partner. So to that point they were doing really well, a solid group of people who are total professionals. Then as I was setting up for the ceremony, I met the officiant. He was 6 foot 6 and clearly an athlete who looked so familiar, when I discovered who he was, I remembered having his baseball card when I was a kid when he played for the Cubs and twins as a Big league pitcher. The reason I'm not telling you his name is that his life just as it was back then, is service to his church now and the ceremony was too good, too personal and too warm to not make that the point. He had known the Bride her entire life and was so important to this Family that that he drove from Visalia to be there for her after his second service of the day.
The stage was set for a truly wild, fun and even unexpected evening. The energy these two families had was off the charts, they were bouncing in their seats to the background music and loving every minute. The volume of the conversations were loud and crazy from the first minute and carried all the way through dinner and into the traditional events. The first dance, The Father daughter dance and the Bouquet and Garter were perfect, each just as good as it could be. I know this sounds like I'm just making a big deal but it actually was just like it sounds. Then...............we met one of the Grandma's, she was a very conservative well dressed woman and very pretty. Normal right? yup..........until the music started and her inner freak let loose, WOW! she was pulling guys on the floor and just having a full blown dance party of her own. We gave her the nick name Lady GaGa and she was hilarious! by the end of the night everyone was calling her GaGa and she was just glowing with fun, the total life of the party.
This was the first wedding of the season for us this year and what a way to start the biggest year yet! Stay tuned we're just getting started!

San Luis Obispo Country Club - A Great Place To Have an Event (of any Kind)

Most Saturdays you can find us presenting the entertainment for a Bride and Groom on their long planned Wedding Day. While the season in getting here quickly we actually booked a party for very sweet 10 year old Named Sophie. All throughout the night we ran interactive games and fun stuff for all the kids. Sophie's Mom and Dad did a great job of making sure the kids always had something going on, with a special request menue from Sophie featuring silver chaffing dishes full of chicken strips and Pizza presented by Bill and the staff at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
I know, a kids party is not a big deal right? This one was different in a very special way. There was another young lady there (about 10 as well) who had special needs although I couldn't tell. I played music to fit the vibe of "good clean fun" and there again not an unusual group of kids. I noticed however that during all the games and all the dancing and all the fun, Sophie, our Birthday Girl made sure that the other little girl we referred to was not only involved but really part of everything. The smaller kids in the room were even carried by the 10 year olds durring some of the games to make sure they were involved as well. Maybe it's me but the rest of us could take a look and realize we aren't born to be self centered and buried in our own interests, these kids had a blast and didn't know what they were showing was the best form of really caring about people around them.
I had a great time, every time we go out it's something different and Sophie is one cool kid.

SOLD OUT! The Father / Daughter Dance " A Night In Paris" , Pismo Beach Vets Hall February 5th, 2012

The best thing about being a DJ is the energy you get back from the clients we work for. I came home smiling last night because the energy was incredible. 170 sets of tickets were sold for this night and all 340+ people were ready to have fun. These kinds of events are becoming big all over the West Coast and Pismo Beach is a great example of what happens when a recreation department is headed up by a team of great people both regulars and volunteers. Colleen and her crew spent two days setting up the Veterans Memorial Building (with a 16 foot tall Eifel Tower which we lit up with pink light and laser effects from the stage, String lights across the entire venue strung by "Gustavo the Great" and then hundreds of pink, black and white balloons.) Gourmet cup-cakes and tons of door prizes enhanced the event. From the minute Dad's and Daughter's began to arrive, the dance floor went off with a huge mix of great and sometimes emotional Father/Daughter dedications throughout the night. We normally have a few crowd games ready to go but this time we needed almost none because the dance floor was packed all night.
We had Police Officers, Fireman, Active military, City leaders, Chamber of Commerce, even Dr. Patel our great local dentist was there. Professional photography was provided by Tom Meinhold and his daughter and we can't wait to see the pics. This was a great time in a great city and we're very proud to be a part of it.

50 Year Anniversary celebrated at the Marriott Courtyard, S.L.O. with DJ Bob

When Carole and Debbie approached us to be the DJ for their parents’ 50th anniversary, we were happy to pull out some really classic music and prepare a really fun party. The music was so cool, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Connie Francis, Neil Sedaka, and oh yea Abba ….lot’s of Abba. From the toast to the dancing and we saw tears, laughter and fun all in one night. One side note, the original wedding party from 50 years ago was all present except one, how cool is that?
The food was just awesome, We’ve worked with Epic catering so many times and this was why we recommend them. Stefanie and her staff at The Marriott were wonderful to work with and the room is beautiful. (If you’re having any kind of event up to 175 guests, this would be a good place to consider especially with the guests having the option to stay on site.) This was just the right party for just the right couple, Loved it.

Durell and Juan Carlos, September 18th at Kaleidoscope Inn

This is one of the events where there is no good reason for it to be awesome but it just was....lol We were put behind schedule due to circumstances after a very nice ceremony in the gardens at the B&B and which would normally be bad but somehow it didn't matter. The guests just rolled with us throughout the day and when we started the dancing..... It went off!!! The flowers for the day were done by our buddy Jessica from "Flowers to you by Jessica" and her crew.... again.... awesome! Now, here's the part I'm most proud of, The crowd was about 50% spanish speaking and 50% percent english. We played, Mainstream hits, hip hop, Club, Banda, Cumbia, Norteno and even spanish rock. It has been some time since I worked with DJ Javier Montes ( He's is an incredible DJ both in English and Spanish) but I value that time like no other, He taught me the basics of how to play for a Spanish speaking crowd and what to look for when I have a crowd like this, We always take pride in respecting the cultural heritage of the families at our events but this was exceptional. Both Families had a blast and I left there smiling myself. Looking Glass Photography captured the whole thing with their very cool style. This event "Went Off" for no good reason....except the vendors who held it all together ....lol

April and Ranier, August 27th, 2011 at Still Waters

Crazy Fun, that's how I would describe it from start to finish it was an absolute joy. The funny thing about this one was the number of guests in the crowd who had been our clients in past seasons. I felt all warm and gooshy.....lol Still Waters Vineyards was the setting and once again I absolutely love this venue it is, in a word "Beautiful". They chose a modern classical vibe for the ceremony prelude music playing while guests took their seats overlooking the vineyard. I'm including a photo from their day just to give you an idea how cool this really was. April flowers ( as always ) did another wonderful job with the flowers and Steve Udell was our photographer. Steve, Thank You for doing your thing and being so very easy to work with, I really appreciated your style my friend. The music was a mix of Mainstream top 40, Classic Rock and even a little country. The dancing was insane and fun and I enjoyed it as much as they did...lol This bride and Groom were just awesome people, they both have jobs that show how much they care about people and what comes around came back around to them with a wedding anyone would be proud of. I saw April after the day had ended as we were packing up and she had tears in her eyes, She told me with a hug how they were tears of happiness, I know it's corny but dang I loved that.

Amber and Kevin ...Aug. 24th at Ventana , Pismo Beach, Ca.

Really nice people do find each-other.... Eric found Amber and they decided to get married in Pismo Beach at the ocean front venue Ventana Grill. The locals know Ventana as one of the busiest and most beautiful Ocean front venues in our area, and the food is absolutely incredible. I had the pleasure of being there for the ceremony with officient PAUL HOWELL once again capturing the emotion of the moment and then we went on to the reception with a Black and Yellow theme that was very cool and different. The guests were treated to one of the too cool color coordinated candy tables once again (LOVE THOSE) done to perfection by FLOWERS TO YOU BY JESSICA along with of course beautiful flowers. The photography was done by another of the great local photographers, KEN KIENOW and his Associate KELSEY. They have this easy very fun way of capturing the event without overwhelming it, and the never ending smile on their faces makes working with them just as fun as it can be. We look for other vendors who have the Bride and Groom at heart all the time, they absolutely do. The party went on until 11 pm and was full of different musical styles, ELVIS, REGGAE, HIP HOP, OLD-SCHOOL and even some COUNTRY music to keep everyone involved and having fun. We only had one noise complaint, but it was a Wednesday.......lol
